Should not be taken in conjunction with anticoagulants such as aspirin and warfarin, as they may increase spontaneous or hidden bleeding. Use with caution in high blood pressure, overactive thyroid and rheumatic heart disease. It is advisable to commence with very low doses (50IU) and build up slowly. Vitamin E and iron should never be supplemented at the same time, as absorption of both will be impaired. Take iron and vitamin E supplements eight hours apart.
